MDEV-7026 fix reintroduces MDEV-6615 on AArch64

          Description

          1. I noticed that MDEV-6615 - data corruption on AArch64 - has returned starting in 5.5.41. It is 100% reproducible in my environment. However, if I revert the fix for MDEV-7026 (6ea41f1e), the issue goes away.
