      Description

We mirror release tarballs, both binary and source, and we mirror MariaDB apt repositories. But yum repositories are not mirrored. This is inconvenient for users, we need to start mirroring yum repositories too.

Maybe at the very least we could start by making the repo tool offer, as an option, the yum repository at skysql.com ( http://downloads.skysql.com/files/MariaDB/yum ). It's faster than yum.mariadb.org, and having an alternative is good anyway.

On my local machine, yum installation, download time:

            from skysql.com

            client: 00:10
            compat: 00:03
            server: 00:43

            from mariadb.org

            client: 00:26
            compat: 00:08
            server: 01:40

I have the Yum repositories mirrored now, I just need to work with Bryan to update the tool. I also want to look into how to set it up so that yum itself automatically picks the best mirror from a list.
