      Description

Currently, MariaDB-Galera starts on boot up:

      [root@dev-110-52 ~]# chkconfig --list mysql
      mysql 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off
      [root@dev-110-52 ~]#

But MariaDB-Galera should not default to start at boot up:

1.) The first node needs to boot strap the cluster, so an additional parameter must be passed.

2.) When a node joins an existing cluster, it may need to take an SST snapshot. If that happens, one of the existing nodes will be taken down to become the donor. This can be a negative effect if this new node still needs to be configured, or was started on in preparation for an upcoming maintenance window.

      Thanks

            Hi Will,
It might be a good suggestion, but I have not understood it fully. A well configured
node should just start out-of-box while OOTH a misconfigured one shouldn't, which
would also keep the OS from booting in normal mode. What is wrong with that?
Also, I am thinking of other services that depend on mysql service (apache?).

I see this more as a problem starting on package installation rather than starting on boot-up. Is that your understanding Will?
