Description
When upgrading mariadb on Ubuntu 11.10 I got the following egrep error message:
Preparing to replace mariadb-server-5.3 5.3.4-mariadb111~oneiric (using .../mariadb-server-5.3_5.3.5-mariadb113~oneiric_amd64.deb) ...
* Stopping MariaDB database server mysqld [ OK ]
egrep: character class syntax is [[:space:]], not [:space:]
See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=630672 for a fix.

Re: egrep syntax error in Ubuntu/Debian packaging preinst script
I had it on my oneiric too, although have not yet noticed anything bad coming from it.
The message can be seen in buildbot on oneiric + 5.2 or 5.3:
http://buildbot.askmonty.org/buildbot/builders/kvm-deb-oneiric-x86/builds/325/steps/test/logs/stdio
http://buildbot.askmonty.org/buildbot/builders/kvm-deb-oneiric-x86/builds/331/steps/test/logs/stdio
But not on oneiric + 5.5:
http://buildbot.askmonty.org/buildbot/builders/kvm-deb-oneiric-x86/builds/334/steps/test/logs/stdio
And not on natty:
http://buildbot.askmonty.org/buildbot/builders/kvm-deb-natty-x86/builds/796/steps/test/logs/stdio
